The owners of Elmstone House, an Auckland heritage home.
However, we were contacted by, and worked directly with, a contractor who was renovating and upgrading the property.
Our task was to design and put up exterior roof scaffolding and create a wrap, to provide wet weather protection.
There were four aspects to this:
One: We had been operating for a year at this stage and wanted a project that put us on the map.
Two: The property was amazing, with its rose gardens being a stand-out feature. (Some of the roses were more than 60 years old). And as you would expect, we had to avoid damaging these at all costs.
Three: The site was in a high wind rated area. An extra complication when planning and designing scaffolding.
Four: The client had had a bad experience with a (careless) scaffolding company in the past. Before hiring us, they sought rock solid assurances there would be no damage to their property or gardens. So, we absolutely had to deliver on this, while completing the job from a technical standpoint.
We based out the scaffold and Cantilevered over the top of the rose gardens. We then built up to 12m, to start to form the roof structure.
Next, we compressed against the concrete walls for stability. And created a roof scaffold with scaffold wrap high enough to clear the home’s chimneys.
As the site was in a high wind rated area, design was critical. The span of our suspended roof structure was over 24m, so we interconnected the truss beams to make the structure self-supporting.
The main contractor and the garden contractor really appreciated the effort we put into this job. Especially as we kept our commitment to preserving the home’s impressive, but delicate, rose gardens.
When you choose us, you get a team that works together day-in, day-out. From planning to logistics to assembling your scaffolding, everything is well co-ordinated.
